OpenOffice.Org provides an open-source set of office communication tools, including:
- A word processor with a user interface similar to that of Microsoft Word. 'OpenOffice.org Writer', as it is called, integrates well into business environments, as it is relatively full-featured, and can read and write many document formats, including that of MS Word.
- A spreadsheet program with a user interface similar to that of Microsoft Excel.
- Presentation software which can edit MS PowerPoint slides and convert them to PDF or other formats.
